Sign Up for 1Password
Before you begin, decide whether you'd like to use 1Password with a family or as an individual. Here’s what you need to know:
- Family Account: If you want to join a family account, ask the family account creator to send you an invitation. If you already have an individual account, you can migrate to a family account. If you plan to create a new family account, start with 1Password Families.
- Individual Account: To sign up individually, visit 1Password.com. After signing up, you'll receive an email to confirm your account. From there, you can set a strong account password, which you'll use to unlock 1Password. Be sure to prepare your Emergency Kit and fill in your password, so you won’t forget it.

The 1Password browser extension makes managing your passwords easier. You can save, fill, and change passwords directly in your browser, simplifying sign-ins for websites and apps. The extension also allows you to view your saved items and quickly find what you need.
